South Africa is a country with countless possibilities, but also enormous threats. Some of those threats include, large scale unemployment, malnutrition, HIV/Aids. Much has been achieved since Nelson Mandela formed his government in 1994. But much more has still to be achieved. There are still many homeless children, high levels of abuse, illiteracy and poor educational facilities in many areas. For this reason Nelson Mandela established his fund in 1994. Their focus is on helping children to build their own future by providing homes for the needy, treatment for the sick, food for the hungry and education for all. Special attention is given to the physically and mentally disabled.
