Janta Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya (JAAV) school for visually challenged children in India

JAAV, Janta Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya is a school for visually challenged children. Most of these children are from poor families who cannot take care of their special needs. There are about 115 visually challenged students enrolled with the school. It provides education, boarding facility, clothes, medical and food to these children free of cost.
Since 1971 many blind students joined and benefited. About 1549 children, till March 2005 of various age group have learned and are able to earn their livelihood honorably. This is a continuous process. The school is well known in the vicinity for helping blind and making them independent to make them earn their livelihood along with others in the main stream.
